Pinot Noir for instance will produce fruit in warmer areas but the best wines come from growing areas with cooler evenings
and warm but not hot days.
Petit Sirah will produce grapes in wetter regions but the tight clusters are extremely
susceptible to rot and mildew. There is a marked difference between just producing grapes and producing high quality grapes.
