| Location: The Willamette Valley AVA stretches from the Washington border past the Willamette Valley in the south and from the Pacific Ocean in the west to the Cascade Mountains in the east. It contains the Willamette River and all of its tributaries. |
Climate: The Willamette Valley's temperature is moderated by its proximity to the cool Pacific Ocean. Winters are cool and moist but rarely drop below freezing. Summers can also be quite cool as well, when compared to most other US AVAs.

Comments: Almost half of Oregon's wineries are located in the Willamette Valley and it most famous wines, Pinot Noirs, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay usually come from this area.
